In the Light of the Moon
Chapter 2
“Keisuke.” Közi said again, still in shock. What was he doing here?
“Yes we’ve established that” Keisuke laughed.
“What are you doing here?” Közi stammered. Keisuke’s appearance had completely unnerved him. He had never expected to see Keisuke again. Keisuke who had broken his heart so cruelly. He had managed to bury his pain over the years, but it was still there, Keisuke’s reappearance had dragged it all up to the surface. The pain, the sadness, his anger and humiliation. It was all there as if it had happened yesterday and not all those centuries before.
“Is that any way to great your old lover?” Keisuke smirked.
“He’s my brother” Gackt explained, knowing that they’ll be there all day before Keisuke would say anything useful. He was surprised to find that his brother had dated Közi but not shocked. Keisuke had a long line of ex’s of both genders. He was very fickle and got bored quickly. Had Közi once dated Keisuke it would explain why Közi was so anti Princes. His brother could often be very cruel when he wanted to get rid of a lover.
“But you’re nothing alike!” Közi exclaimed, wondering how some one as cruel as Keisuke could be related to Gackt. Gackt who appeared to be kind and noble. But Keisuke had acted the same at first. He had believed Keisuke was a nice guy. ‘Could Gackt be just as fake?’ He tried to shake the thought away. He trusted Gackt, Gackt wouldn’t betray him. But the thought was only buried at the back of his mind. Labelled as paranoia in Közi’s mind. He’d trust Gackt until Gackt betrayed him, he wouldn’t let Keisuke’s actions be a judge of Gackt’s character.
“I think Gackt and I may be more alike than you think.” Keisuke said, as if he had been reading Közi’s very thoughts.
“Except I’m prettier, smarter, talented and generally better in every way.” Gackt agreed.
“Say’s who?” Kei asked annoyed.
“Says me.” Kami said, ever loyal to Gackt.
“Yeah but you would say that.” Keisuke laughed.
“Why are you here?” Közi asked, annoyed that the conversation seemed to be going of in a completely different direction.
“To visit my brother and meet his friends.” Keisuke replied as if it was obvious. Actually it was obvious but Közi was too much in shock to think entirely logically.
“You and Keisuke used to date?” Yu~ki asked in surprise.
“Yes.” Keisuke confirmed. “I fucked him for awhile and then got bored. He tried to hang around for awhile like a little lost puppy. Sometimes you just have to be cruel to be kind.” Közi blinked in shock. Keisuke hadn’t been doing it how of kindness. He had generally enjoyed making Közi’s life hell. How could Keisuke be so blatant about there relationship? As if it had meant nothing. “Hey is anyone going to show me around?” Keisuke asked in the silence that had followed his last statement.
“Sure.” Gackt agreed noticing that both Kami and Közi seemed to desperately need a break from the company of his little brother.
“Don’t trust him.” Közi warned the moment he was sure Keisuke was out of earshot.
Kami had been relieved when Közi had given Gackt the day off. Even though they had rehearsal Közi just couldn’t bare spending the whole day with Keisuke. Giving Gackt the day off got him off the hook. The rehearsal continued as normally as it could with a missing vocalist. Kami was glad Keisuke was gone. It wasn’t that he hated Keisuke it was just that he didn’t trust the man. He hated the way that Keisuke seemed to think of him as one of Gackt’s possessions. He seemed to have no concept of Kami being an actual person with thoughts and feelings. To Keisuke Kami was just a pretty face, good for sex and as a fashion accessory bit nothing else.
‘Does Gackt see me like that?’ Kami wondered before stamping the thought out feeling guilty. Off course Gackt didn’t see him like that. He’d already proven it in millions of little ways. If that wasn’t enough there was the whole Mana thing. No way would have gone that far to protect him if he though of Kami as just a pretty face. It was just Keisuke who thought of him like that. Kami glanced at Közi who had been quiet all day. Közi had warned him about Princes being fickle and cruel that night Kami had found out about Gackt being one of them. They had both agreed that Gackt was different. However if Keisuke was Közi’s Prince…
‘What had Keisuke done to Közi?’ Kami wondered all day. ‘Other than break his heart off course.’ Kami felt pity for Közi. Közi had told him how much he’s been in love with ‘A Prince’, how one day the Prince had gotten bored and moved on. Was that Prince Keisuke? Almost certainly. Kami sighed. He knew how much it would hurt if Gackt one day grew bored of him.
“Közi are you alright?” Kami asked the first moment he and Közi were alone.
“Not really.” Közi answered “But don’t worry about me.”
“I can’t help but worry about you.” Kami replied. It was true. Kami always worried about his friends when they were upset and Közi had always been there for him when he needed him most. Kami wanted to return the favour. Now that Közi was depressed Kami felt an over bearing need to protect him.
“I just don’t know how I’m going to cope with him here.” Közi admitted, knowing that he could trust Kami.
“You’ll cope.” Kami said reassuringly. “You’re a strong man, with good and loyal friends to help you. I for one will be here for you.”
“I hope that’s enough.” Közi replied with a small smile. “I suppose we should get back to the others” Közi added realising that they were both supposed to be working.
“Yeah.” Kami agreed obviously wanting to talk to Közi some more.
“Kami.” Közi said as he left the room. “Thank you.”
That evening Kami returned home alone. He was getting hungry and though Közi had offered to take him hunting he needed Gackt there by his side. He paused outside the front door when he heard the two brothers talking inside.
“You’re bound to get bored of his pretty face eventually.” Keisuke said. Kami paused with his hand on the door knob. Were they talking about him? He shouldn’t be able to hear them off course, but he had vampire hearing now. Knowing he shouldn’t Kami stood there and listened in to the conversation.
“But he’s not just a pretty face he’s so much more.” Gackt replied.
“Meaning he’s a good fuck.” Keisuke laughed. “I’m right aren’t I.”
“Yes he really is.” Gackt agreed. Kami’s fears rushed straight back to the surface. Gackt didn’t just see him like this did he?
“Still no matter how good he is, you’ll want a change eventually.” Keisuke said knowledgably.
“No I prefer to stay loyal.” Gackt announced.
“For the convenience.” Keisuke agreed. “It’s nice to have somewhere there whenever you’re in the mood.”
“There’s that advantage.” Gackt laughed. Kami started to feel sick. How could Gackt be talking about him like this?
“Is he really so good?” Keisuke asked.
“The best I’ve ever had.” Gackt answered.
“Then maybe I should fuck him too.” Keisuke laughed.
“Kami is mine.” Gackt snarled at his brother. “And it’s not all about sex you know. Kami is caring and considerate. He’s there for me when I need him. You’re not to touch him. Kami is too special for someone like you. He’s also really smart. Smart enough not to fall for a man eating womaniser like you.” Kami smiled relieved. Everything was Ok again. He was glad he’s stayed, part of him had wanted to run before. Then he never would have heard the nice things Gackt had said.
“Fine you have you’re perfect boyfriend.” Keisuke snapped. “I don’t want him anyway, though I do want to fuck his hot...” Keisuke never finished the sentence. He let out a cry of pain. Gackt had obviously hit him. Hard by the sounds of things. Properly in a very painful place.
“Don’t you dare.” Gackt snarled mad. “If you even touch him…” Gackt never finished his threat because Kami had choose this moment to enter the house. Kami walked into the kitchen where the two brothers were standing up looking like they were ready to kill each other. He ignored the tense atmosphere and walked over to give Gackt a quick hug.
“Thank you” he whispered into Gackt’s ear. Quiet enough so Keisuke couldn’t hear. Gackt looked puzzled and then it dawned on him that Kami must have overheard the conversation.
“Where’s my hug?” Keisuke demanded. Kami just stood there one arm around Gackt’s waist. Keisuke scowled.
‘Stupid Gackt and his stupid loyal boyfriend.’ He thought as he stormed out of the room.
“Where are you going?” Gackt called after him.
“To find someone pretty to eat and fuck, or maybe fuck then eat. I haven’t decided.” Keisuke called back slamming the front door.
“Talking about food…” Kami started before finding himself pressed against the counter. Gackt’s lips on his.
“Ok we can go now.” Gackt said as he finally pulled away.
“That counter really does hurt.” Kami commented. It was usually him pushing Gackt against it.
“See, I told you.” Gackt happily announced picking up his car keys.
“I’ll cook tonight.” Yu~ki offered as he entered the house. Közi and Mana close behind him. He made it sound like he was doing everyone a favour. In reality it was his turn that night anyway.
“What are you planning on cooking tonight?” Mana asked suspiciously. Yu~ki was usually a good cook but sometimes he would try one off his own unique recipes. Last time he had cooked he had made chocolate pizza. Whoever said “Cheese makes everything taste good.” Had obviously never eaten Yu~ki’s pizza.
“I was thinking of trying that Pizza again.” Yu~ki replied completely series before laughing at the horror on his friends faces. “I’m joking.” He reassured them. “How does steak sound.”
“I don’t know.” Mana replied. “You’re not planning on coating it in chocolate or something are you?”
“No chocolate.” Yu~ki laughed. “Only for dessert.”
“You’re going to make me fat.” Mana complained as he followed Yu~ki into the kitchen. His friends distracted by that’s nights meal didn’t notice as Közi slipped upstairs.
Közi entered the room that he used as an office. It contained a desk on which sat his computer. However it also contained locked drawers. One of which Közi opened now. He pulled out the piece of newspaper he had put there previously. “Doctor found dead in alley.” Read the caption on top. Közi had read the article before. It was from the week before and told of how a man had been found dead in an alley. What had caught Közi’s attention was that it was obviously a vampire feeding. The body had been found unhurt yet completely drained of blood. The only witness had been a very confused girl who talked about how he had been trying to rape her. “Somehow I got away and ran home.” She had commented. When asked how she escaped she replied. “I really don’t know. I just did.” It had happened the day that Mana had lost to Gackt. Mana the obvious suspect as he had been in a terrible mood that night, had been proven innocent simply by the timing of the thing. Gackt was most likely innocent too, Közi had decided. Gackt just didn’t seem the type to be a killer. It was properly an accidental killing Közi had decided when he first locked the article away. There was another 27 vampires living in
‘Did you kill this man’ Közi thought as he reread the article. Knowing he had no proof he slipped the article back into the drawer. ‘One slip up and you’re dead.’ Közi thought as he glanced at the vial next to the article. It was about half full and contained the potion he had used on Gackt. ‘I can kill you even though you are a Prince.’ he thought locking the drawer.
And so Keisuke is getting blamed for Gackt’s murder XD. Chapter 3 is a lot better than this I promise, though I guess this isn’t that bad. Maybe chapter 3 is just really good. I haven't actually proof read this chapter. Except a little bit it should be the same as on paper. out of boredom i read it like 3 billion times and now i can't bare to have to read it again. Hopefully it reads OK. XD. Tough if i t doesn't. Chapter 3 still finished but still needs typing XD. I only got home at 3AM or something so i'm tired from not enough sleep. No time to type it up now though :( Have to post it tommorow.
